Byron Brooks

Environmental Technologist

As an environmental technologist, Byron W. Brooks works to preserve and enhance our commonwealth’s natural areas.  He assists in the drafting of management plans, control of invasive exotic plant species and with prescribed burning for habitat restoration on the dedicated State Nature Preserves across our state. 

Byron is originally from outside Chattanooga, Tennessee. He completed a Bachelor of Science in environmental science, geology concentration at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2001. Prior to joining the KSNPC in January 2003, he worked as the site manager and program coordinator for the Lula Lake Land Trust in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2001, he held a seasonal preserve management position with The Nature Conservancy at Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island, New York. While a student, he worked in Land Stewardship with the Tennessee River Gorge Trust in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
