Kyle Napier

Southeastern Regional Nature Preserve Manager

Kyle received a Bachelor of Science in environmental science from Clinch Valley College (University of Virginia College at Wise) in 1987. He later received a secondary science emphasis in biology degree from Morehead State in 1990. Kyle grew up on the north side of Pine Mountain near Whitesburg in Letcher County. Throughout his life much time has been spent investigating the mountain. He has a deep interest in all plant and animal life, especially the ones found in southeastern Kentucky and southwestern Virginia. Kyle has been with the commission since July 1996, and serves as the southeastern regional preserves manager. His region includes the rugged mountains and Cumberland plateau sections of the state. Kyle is stationed in Whitesburg.
