River Cliffs State Nature Preserve, located in Franklin County, was dedicated on October 22, 2002. Situated along the Kentucky River palisades northwest of Frankfort, River Cliffs State Nature Preserve protects Lucy Braun's rockcress (Arabis perstellata), a federally endangered species. This 112-acre preserve is one of the commission's first privately owned preserves. It was made possible by the generous donation of a conservation easement by the owner. Access is by written permission only.
